Updating a Data Pool
I apologize if this has been asked before but does anyone know if Robot has the capabilities to update a data pool. Ex.. I know that it can read from a data pool but can it add an outcome from an application to the data pool? Thanks in advance.
Re: Updating a Data Pool
Wouldn't adding the results to the datapool make the datapool no longer useful going forward? That is unless you kept a pristine copy somewhere and refreshed over the one you added values to after a test run was evaluated.
In any case, you can not do so naturally, and i believe the answer might be 'no' if you have those nice little column definitions made up in Test Manager when you created your datapool but worth a try if you are wanting it.
Your datapool is essentially a csv file, you can update the csv file as you wish, using file i/o functions or even ADO possibly. If you were doing this, i would create the column and have blank values in it, or have some string such as 'dummy' or 'none' to indicate that no calculation on that line occured. Again i would take a backup of your datapool directory before attempting this, especially if you have those column definitions.
Your best bet to keep your data from getting confusing, seems to be to create seperate result files.
