    Unrealistic Response time?

    User Rehan Anwar (ranwar@velos.com.nospam) posted:

    hi Group,
when am putting a Timer, per the Performance report shows it takes '3228'
seconds (Mean) to save a particular page/data, and when i am putting a Block
command then it shows some cmd id's around 70 in numbers with varied
response times, HOW should i find out that which Cmd id under that block is
of interest for me and need to notice the response time for that.

WHY in the God name my application is showing such a huge time taken when i
put a timer on some SAVE event.
Its just unrealistic response time it is showing in the report, one more
thing i want to point out is that i have put a Sync point in the script
also, but then too if 10 users are saving a particular page simultaneously
it shouldn't ever take that long? Am i right!!!

any help in this regard will be most welcomed.

    thanks,
    Rehan Anwar

Do you still have all the "think-time" in your code blocks? Does your timer
include the thinking about saving, as well as saving?

    Re: Unrealistic Response time?

    User Rehan Anwar (ranwar@velos.com.nospam) posted:

    hello,
In PS 2000 patch # 5, the Block Command doesn't give the right picture of
the response time taken and thats a software limitation i guess.
In my case i put i block named 'Log-Now' just before i login into the system
& close the block the moment i logged onto the system. And it generates like
80 Cmd IDs for this block from [Log-Now001] till [Log-Now080] and there is
one more Cmd Id there in the response, performance and all reports whose
name is just [Log-Now], logically this row [Log-Now] should give the sumup
of all the 80 cmd-ids inside this block i.e the Average & Max response time
etc, but the picture it gives is just out of the world. Say it gives for 25
users time taken Avg as '2553' seconds.

I talked to the rational support also and they told me that in v2000 it was
a limitation and it never gives the correct picture of block response time,
so my concern here is that how come we can find out the Avg & Max response
    time for this BLOCK.

any help in this regard will be highly appreciated

    thanks,
    Rehan
