    Don't know what a facade API is, but can I offer a solution in the form of a
    question? Would you know how to test it if you were doing it manually? If so
    you should be able to automate your manual test.

    Some general advice, as I don't know what a facade API is.
    First, API testing requires of course detailed knowledge on the API
    functions and can be considered as white box testing. The API usually comes
    in form of an DLL, and you'll need documentaion on that DLL. As this is
    probably a custom DLL created by your developers you should talk to them
    first (which is my second advice ;-)).
    Third, you should consider a different test environment for API testing than
    Teamtest. Often the functions in a DLL use data types and structures that
    are hard and sometimes impossible to create in Robot, but are simple to
    implement in VB or C++.

    So you might consider writing your test from the API specification that
    development used for the API creation in the programming language used by
    development.

    Hope this helps
