Robot Recognition problems
I'm having recognition problems with Robot V2000.01.10. I'm doing some heavy duty scripting which involves wrapping the SQABasic commands inside functions and passing the context and recognition methods to those functions.
Sometimes playback works, sometimes it doesn't. It appears to behave like this because I am using the Name of the object instead of the usual Caption or Text identifiers. (Name=cmdOK)
Rational has admitted that there is a problem with using Name=??? in the 2000 version. I do not have the VB implant in the exe. It is not required in the 2000 version of Robot.
Anyone had similar experiences? Can anyone suggest a work around? The only one I can think of is to use Captions, Text, and ObjectIndex recognition methods. I would rather use the Name recognition method.
Re: Robot Recognition problems
I find the most reliable way is to identify controls by Type=??? and ID=???. I never use ObjectIndex, and Class only works for me if there is just 1 window of the same class on the screen.
Use the inspector to tell what the IDs of your controls are. To combine Type and ID use "Type=PushButton;ID=5000" as a recognition
