I have Rational Robot (2003.06) running on a Windows XP virtual machine using VMWare.
For special test purpose when the virtual machines reboots, it starts automatically a windows session by using the winlogon registry settings. On purpose, no remote desktop connection or vmware client viewer is connected to that virtual machine.
With a Bat file in the start menu and correct arguments, rational robot is starting a script and running it until it needs to interact with the GUI of the applications it needs to test.
It seems that rational robot cannot find the Window objects and interact with the application.
Running the same test when a vmware client viewer connected or an remote destop connection is not a problem!
Are there people with experience running rational robot on a virtual machine, or have found a solution?
There needs to be an available session open so that the windows GUI is displayed, and in turn, your AUT GUI is displayed.
If Robot cannot interact with a displayed GUI it will not be able to find any objects.
