Handling actions on unix(putty) in RFT
I am working on an application where a lot of transactions are generated and fields in these records get updated when some batches are run on the unix machine(putty).so sometimes a batch takes much or less time to execute depending on the no of records.I am using sleep command for this.But whenever the batch takes more time to execute than used in the sleep command, my script are failed.so can we handle this thing in RFT so that the next batch is run only when the first one is completely executed.
Thanks and Regards,
Re: Handling actions on unix(putty) in RFT
Yes we can handle this in RFT using waitforexistence method on the object.
Execute the batch statement
Wait for some object which aappears after executing the batch
like GUIObject().waitForExistence(100, 2)
It will wait for 100 secs with the interval of 2 secs. if object appears before that, loop will break and next statement will be executed.
So in place of 100 you can give maximum time that a batch will take.
