2 instances of IE simultaneously testing same page

    Hi,

Has anyone had luck and/or problems using RFT to simultaneously test the same webpage with two instances of IE (as two different logged in users).

From the little bit that I've seen of the way 'object interfaces' work in RFT this seems like it might be a problem. Any comments?

    Much thanks!

The way the Test Object Map works is that it looks for a unique object. Two browsers with the same objects would cause the exception handler to kick in reporting more than one instance.

Better to run them in sequence, or in parallel on another computer.

    Hi Graeme,

Thanks for the reply. I also posted at the IBM site and got a response that I was able to make work:

Re: 2 instances of IE simultaneously testing same

Neat. I've never used ProcessTestObject but it looks liek it is dynamically setting the TestObject and recognising the properties for that instance. Thus it is adapting for the new set of properties every time.

Perhaps a careful set of recognition properties in the Map would achieve the same thing but that can be quite cumbersome to setup at times.

Apparently the 'anchor' in the code I linked to is just the PID so it should be possible to save it as an int or whatever and use it to identify the app instance at a later time.
