warnings when using RE
I have the following problem :
A tab is used in several places in the AUT.
In order to avoid recording the same sequence several times, I created a script (with a private map) which deals only with this tab.
I replaced the testObjects' names with regular expressions (which evaluate correctly), but when running scripts that call this script, I get warnings. Can someone explain why ?
Re: warnings when using RE
We are using RE for our object maps and have experienced your issue. Many times it was because we were too restrictive in the parameters AND too generic in the RE that we were using. My old example for this is to look for Bob Smith at a convention. Name is a good way to identify a person, except when that name is Bob Smith and he is attending the annual “Bob Smith” convention (yes, it really exists).
Perhaps you need to use more parameters than you currently use.
Perhaps you need to refine your Regular Expression.
Perhaps it is only an issue of the weightings assigned to each parameter.
Otherwise review some of the old object map entries in this forum or wait for the next guy to respond as this issue has popped up before and they could have a more technical illistration.
