We have to move our application to JDK1.4.2 and can not run the existing Xdetester scripts.
Recording does not work too.
I have enabled the new JRE but the scripts and the recording still do not work.
Any info regarding this ?
Try the following:
1)go to Window->Preferences
2)Select Java->Installed JRE's
3)Make sure there is an entry for 1.4.2. If not add it here.
Hopefully it works!
Thank you for responding.
I am coming back to jdk1.4.2 after returning to jdk1.4.1 to test a new version of fastObjects, (the database we use).
I have done the change you suggested but it still does not work.
Are you using jdk1.4.2 ?
Is some one using it successfully here ?
Thanks for your help.
I tried the following:
cp "our JRE" /program files/rational/common/java/
... and it works like this ... I don't understand why as I thought that adding my jre to the preferences/installed jre would use the right jre ?
Well, I can record and replay now ...
There's only a small chance this is related, but I downloaded 1.4.2 from java.sun.com and ended up with a 356KB install file. Appearantly it was a net installer even though the link just says "Windows Installer" as opposed to the one below that more clearly says "Windows offline installer". This must be something new because I don't think I've encountered a Java net install before. I guess I had some other kind of error occur that prevented it from doing its download because the installation of 1.4.2 I ended up with didn't function correctly.
