Automation Frameworks for XDE Tester?
Currently I am using the TEST MODULARITY approach
I have created small, independent scripts that represent modules, sections, and functions of the application-under-test. I have taken these small scripts and combined them in a hierarchical fashion to construct larger tests.
So far this approach has yielded a higher degree of modularization and helped the overall maintainability of my scripts.
But now we are expanding our automation efforts to multiple projects. I would like to know how to go about using certain FRAMEWOKS like the DATA-DRIVEN FRAMEWORK with the XDE tester tool.
Any reference, comments, suggestions and examples would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Automation Frameworks for XDE Tester?
I tried this by creating functions to search the screen for matching objects instead of relying on the object map. However, searching all mappable children of the parent browser was adding way too much delay in my script and I had to abandon that. The version I was using was the March RobotJ. I was told that future versions of XDE Tester would add this feature to search for an objects based on properties. Due to the hierachical nature of the object map, I'd consider this feature very important to developing a framework with XDE Tester. Otherwise every object on each individual page will have to be mapped and maintained. This would still be plausible, but a lot more work.
