Help with vpManual performTest()
I am having problems using the performTest() method of vpManual. I am parsing string values out of a couple of sources and trying to use vpManual to test their equivalence.
When I run the following code in my script, a java.lang.NullPointerException is thrown.
vpManual("TestName", "abc", "abc").performTest();
I can successfully call other methods of vpManual such as getVPName(), getExpectedData(), and getActualData().
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here? It makes no difference whether or not expected and actual are equal. It makes no difference if I cast the String value to an Object ( vpManual("TestName", (Object)"abc", (Object)"abc").performTest() ). It seems like it should be fairly straight-forward (and I am closely following the example in the documentation).
Thanks a lot for any help.
Re: Help with vpManual performTest()
I found the following information in Rational's Knowledge Base (Solution Id: 135937313)
The following error message occurs every time Manual Verification Points.
"Exception occurred during playback of script [test] [RationalTestScriptException of script test - java.lang.NullPointerException: null."
This is a known problem which will be resolved. The problem occurs because the method fails to create a baseline or something of the sort.
Try the following to create the baseline:
public void testMain (Object args)
vpManual("vpmanualtest", "String1", "String2").performTest();
