We have developed RFT scripts to enter data in a Web based application for ID creation, the RFT scripts are doing everything as directed and clicking on the Create button at the end, and a message is displayed saying that the ID is created successfully. But when we are trying to locate the ID using application search functionality, it is saying that the ID does not exist. So we are assuming that the ID might not be created successfully during first RFT scripts run, so we are running the same RFT scripts again without changing he data for ID creation, but this time the RFT scripts is encountering an error saying that duplicate data exist. That means during first RFT scripts run, the data has been inserted to database for ID creation but there might be some issue so that we are not able to locate the ID which has been created.
But everything is working fine when we do this ID creation manually using the same data without using any RFT automation scripts.
Can anybody suggest what might be the issue and suggest some resolution or workaround. This will be big a help for us, as we are having very tight schedule and because of this issue, now we are stuck and not able to move ahead.
Issue seems to be from the application side and not RFT. On adding the Record if the corresponding Record is not reflected in the Search functionality then it is the inability of the Application and not RFT.
The application is behaving perfectly fine and manually the ids are getting created immediately without any delay the problem is happening only when we are using RFT scripts for ID creation. The strange thing is, while using RFT script the application is showing message that the ‘ID created successfully’ but when we are searching the ID the application is showing message that ‘No ID found’. Today we tried searching the IDs that we have created using RFT scripts on Friday but still we can't find these. So we don't think it is lag or sync issue.
If it is application issue then, when we are trying to add IDs manually then it should behave in the same way as it is behaving to RFT scripts. In manual mode the ID creation is happening perfectly fine.
This is very strange behavior of the application not the problem with the RFT. RFT is just used to mimic your Manual steps but it is not going to effect your application. If you have time reach me on mail to have a live web meeting to see your issue.
