    Ambiguous Recognition - CRFCN0207W handling

    Guys

    I get an ambiguous recognition warning message during playback. Not sure why?
    CRFCN0207W : The desired Test Object is ambiguous, at least 3 instances are available.....

    Here is the scenario

    1. Opens an IE web page - Page 1
    2. Click a Login link in Page 1
    3. Opens another small IE window (Page 2) where you have three controls : Userid (Html.INPUT.text), Password (Html.INPUT.password) & Submit (Html.INPUT.submit).

    All the above 3 controls fail with an ambiguous recognition issue. I cannot see these controls in Page 1. Hence, puzzled as to what the issue might be?
    I tried adjusting the Script Assure properties but no luck.

    I tried to recognize these controls dynamically but not able to do so
    I thought it could be the document properties & hence tried removing the .url property but still no luck.

    Has anybody been in a similar situation as mine. If so could you spare some hints / thoughts here?
    Is there a workaround to solve this issue?

    Thanks
    Thani

    Hi ,

    Have you highlighted the identified object from map to check whether the correct object is recognised or not??
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sathish

    Re: Ambiguous Recognition - CRFCN0207W handling

    Hi

    I have the following properties defined for the control. (taken out from test object map)

    .class : Html.INPUT.text (weight : 100)
    .name : txtUserName (weight : 90)
    .type : text (weight : 95)

    Just to let you know that I have tried tuning the ambiguous recognition score in ScriptAssure properties between 1000 to 10000 & had no luck.
    I am wondering if the issue is on the control or might be on a top level element like the document or browser window?

    Thanks
    Thani

    In your case RFT is identifying more than one object with the above properties mentioned by you.. Try using descriptive approach to identify the object with its properties
    Thanks and Regards,

    Re: Ambiguous Recognition - CRFCN0207W handling

    Hello
    I tried using the descriptive approach but the object is still not getting recognized.

    I used the code as below

    RootTestObject root = getRootTestObject();
    TestObject[] to = root.find(atDescendant(".class","Html.INPUT.text") ;

    The above piece of code does not return any objects.
    Is there anything wrong with the above code?

    Thanks

    I have enabled the browser using startBrowser()..
    The complete code is as below

    // Page 1
    startBrowser ("http://testapplication");
    link_Logon().click();

    // Page 2 (Note : Page 2 is a small pop up like window for log in screen. Page 1 is behind this small window

    RootTestObject root = getRootTestObject();
    TestObject[] to = root.find(atDescendant(".class","Html.INPUT.text") ;

    Hi,

    Is your Browser passed Enablement test if yes ..then in your above code use some sleep time to make the playback to wait to until the page loads.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sathish
