How do you share common library function
Can you share how do you share common library functions?
Since scripts are created for individual projects, how do you share functions across different projects?
We have written some functions and complied into dll, but each user would need to copy this dll to their own machine.
I want to check if there is a way we can all point to this dll, so all scripts can utilize the functions in this dll across all projects.
Re: How do you share common library function
I take it you're in Visual Studio 2005.
RFT projects in VS are a nuisance in that you can't see the project properties.
(in Java, the default java properties are available, so not sure why they aren't in the .net version)
But the good news is you can add a dll for ALL projects in one go:
we did it with a third part dll for Json file parsing, but it's the same steps:
1. Copy the dll into the RFT installation folder
For me that was C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\FunctionalTester\bin
2. Put in reference to it in
C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\bin \NetAssembliesForCompiler.txt.
et voila. available in all projects.
Note - the latest file gets renewed for every .net framework update
So if things suddenly don't compile anymore - that's probably why.
