I upgraded to RFT version 8 (from 22.214.171.124,iFix004). My script have slowed to a crawl taking anywhere from 2 to 5 times as long. I've traced the problem to some test object find code (I'm using Java for the scripts). For example TestObject toTable = root.find(atDescendant(".class", "com.trnswrks.client.components.MultiLineTable ")); went from less than a second to over 10 seconds.
Wow, yes! I just did the same upgrade and it's been one thing after another. I've had to go and re-enable apps and environments every time I go in and out, re-capture some data fields because of recognition errors and I get all kinds of java errors and have done several version adjustments trying to iron that out. IBM doesn't seem to have many answers for me. What application are you trying to test? If it will run on Firefox, you could try that. IBM develops on that so it does help some issues.
I'm testing an applet out of IE7. The applet must run from IE7 per requirements. I "solved" the problem by re-writing my scripts to not use the root.find method. I just let RFT find the object the old fashioned way, from the object map.
