Record button is greyed out?
One of my fellows users at my org has a new QTP install, and upon launching and creating a new test, his Record button is greyed out.
My two ideas:
-the install is bad
-the temp directory is not set up right

In case he upgraded this can happen. But you can try a uninstall, clean uninstall and then re-install QTP
