Set Function does not set value in the field

In the script below the set function for BEGIN_DATE, END_DATE and ESCALATION_RATE does not set the values in the field but for the PERIOD_NAME field it sets the value to “testing” as mentioned in the script why is that, do I have to use any other functions for setting a value in the field? Marked the respectively fields with <-,<--,<---,<----

    Thank you

    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WbfUltraGrid("WG1").SelectCell "0", "BEGIN_DATE"<- don't set
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit").Set "12/20/2007"<-don't set
    wait 2
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WbfUltraGrid("WG1").SelectCell "0", "END_DATE"<--don't set
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit_2").Set "12/30/2008"<--don't set
    Browser(" Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WbfUltraGrid("WG1").SelectCell "0", "ESCALATION_RATE"<---don't set
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit").Set "5"<---don't set
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WbfUltraGrid("WG1").SelectCell "0","PERIOD_NAME"<---- sets the value
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit_3").Set "Testing"<---- sets the value

Re: Set Function does not set value in the field

What exactly is "WbfUltraGrid("WG1")" is it a calendar???
If so first try to see whethere its getting recognized by object spy.
I guess your recording the script and when you run it back QTP is not identifying those objects.

    Regards,
    Shiva

It's just a field where you can enter the date in the format mm/dd/year

Re: Set Function does not set value in the field

    Try this:
    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit").Object.value = "12/20/2007"

Re: Set Function does not set value in the field

no it does not set the value with this statement also.

    Browser("Grid Page").Page("Grid Page").WebEdit("WebEdit").Object.value = "12/20/2007"

If I run the script 2 times in a row without refreshing the page it sets BEGIN_DATE but does not set the END_DATE or ESCALATION_RATE. Why is that?

Re: Set Function does not set value in the field

Thanks for the possible solutions but I was able to solve the issue by re-recording and inserting wait statement in several different places of the script
