Pass values between Components (Descriptive Prog.)
I'm working with QTP Descriptive Programming (with BPT) and need to pass values between components without using Actions.
I was reading about environment variables, but I think that that doesn't help me. Because I need take a value from one component and pass to another, and the environment variables are defined previously and should not to be changed.
Can you help me, please.
Re: Pass values between Components (Descriptive Pr
Can you explain why you don't want to pass the value using the component itself?
You can setup a variable for a component as an output parameter and when you build your script, simply check the box for "Use output from previous component" or whatever it says. You should see a list of all defined output parameters from all previous components.
When Mercury created the BPT concept they left out the "Global" parameter sheet. There are several ways to pass parameters from one component to another, but unfortunately the output parameter is the only one built into QC.
Hope this helps.
