I have a winzip file and an XML file is under this winzip file. Is there any way to open the zip file and then read the xml file inside the zip file, using QTP?
I'm guessing if you can find a way to open the zip and extract to a location via command line you could use SystemUtil, or you could manipulate the GUI of your favorite extraction tool
Then simply retrieve the data from the xml using the XMLUtil object.
set xmlobj = XMLUtil.CreateXMLFromFile("c:\test.xml")
xmlstr = xmlobj.ToString
A good rule of thumb is to never measure with your thumb.
You can read about extracting ZIP files here.
As for XML, you can either use XMLUtil, or create a .Net System.XML.XMLDocument object using DotNetFactory, and read the file into it.
'coz we're programmers - not users
Thanks a lot Steve. The information was quite useful.
