Thanks Yaron, this is useful. I can't recall any other versions being backward compatible. I guess they have made a bodge of 9.5 and are telling people to roll back. I know I have had enough of 9.5 and have rolled back to 9.2
Well it's sort of compatible. As soon as you open a script in QTP 9.2 that was converted to 9.5 you will see the following warning:
"Due to version incompatibilities, the following limitation applies:
-- Checkpoints and output values that were stored in shared object repositories in Quicktest 9.5 cannot be used in Quicktest 9.2. If your test includes a checkpoint or output value from a shared object repository, that step will fail."
Anyone having trouble installing it? I can install on several machines but one raises error that it is not a valid installer. It is our 'execution' machine which can be logged into by any QTP developer.
If you had to identify, in one word, the reason
why the human race has not achieved, and never
will achieve, its full potential that word would be "meetings".
Hey, could you please help. We had to return to 9.2 QTP, but all our scripts collection has been already converted to 9.5
Can we use this patch to open our scrips in 9.2, or they are opening in read-only mode.
