I have been running tests that involve logging into a web portal and performing numerous tests on a variety of pages in the web application.
I have found at times that QTP clicks on a link and then on some pages, a lot of the images on the page appear to be missing and I have been left with an almost "skeleton" version of the web page(s). Following the same steps manually does not replicate the problem and the same script running on another machine / at another time may also NOT replicate the problem. It does appear to happen randomly.
A solution seemed to be clearing the Temporary internet files / history from the browser - but I was wondering if this was more a work around rather than a solution - and if I was maybe missing the real cause of the problem?
Re: Missing images when running tests in web browser?
well..i might ve come across a similar situation like u..when i was working in a java appln, if i wrote - javawindow("").Type micReturn, the screen hangs up but if i use Window("").Type miReturn, it works perfectly fine.
SO it cud b that some methods n actions work fine with different objects.
Re: Missing images when running tests in web brows
Yeah, I've seen that before, I set my browser to always check for newer pages, and I don't experience it so much, although sometimes our image server will hiccup and some images won't or are slow to load.
A good rule of thumb is to never measure with your thumb.
