We are doing the proof of concept to automate approx 6 to 7 .Net Windows Applications. To start with we have thought to go with the QuickTestPro's .Net Add-in. Meanwhile I heard of TestAdvantage , vendor site claiming that it provides hell lot of advantage for Windows Forms.
Any body used it before? Any body who did the automation on .Net windows application, .Net add-in is not sufficient? Kindly share challenges you faced.
Raja Reddy, for your information we are automating scripts for .NET application using .NET Add-in with QTP9.2. Ours is a window application, and below are the few challenges to know:
1. Recognize toolbar menu items
2. Links under Task Pane
3. Dev express controls
4. Grid/(s) and tables
5. Xtra navbar controls.

I was unable to test an infragistics ultragrid properly until I obtained TestAdvantage. Solved most of the problems I was encountering...
Dowload the trial version from their site and see how it works for you. Just make sure that the version of NetAdvantage used by the developers to design the controls is in synch with the trial version of TestAdvantage that you download, or it probably won't work for you.
Hi this is Manee.
I had installed test advantage. But the problem i am facing is that i am unable to expand the ultra explorer bar groups.Following is my code
Set groups = SwfWindow("AKESSA").SwfWindow("Create Physician").SwfObject("ultraExplorerBarEmployee"). Object.Groups
For i = 0 to 8
msgbox ("Text --> " & groups.Item( i ).Text)
'groups.ExpandAll (groups.Item( i ))
Above code shows me the captions of the collection of groups but i am unable to expand them by default when the form is loaded.
