Checking for QTP Instance on machine
I am working on a Utility (VB Application) through which i need to Launch/Run QTP script.
Before Launching instance of QTP I want to check existence of QTP installed on that machine...
Can anybody give me idea how can I check that QTP is installed on machine and give a message if not installed?
One possible way is to make a object of Folder and check for "QTPro.exe" at "C:/Program Files...." (Dir of QTP)
But I think there has to be any function which can check this.
Thanks in Advance!
Re: Checking for QTP Instance on machine
I would suggest looking for a registry key (e.g. HKLM\Software\Mercury\Quicktest...
Another solution is to try and create QTP's COM object:
On Error Resume Next
Set oTry = CreateObject("Quicktest.Application")
If Err.Number <> 0 Then Msgbox "Bad!"
On Error Goto 0
