Clarification on ObjectIdentification for webobjec
I have gone through the QTP help and have a little confusion on the properties that QTP learns to identify the object.
1) I tried to add a New Property for ex. Index in the MANDATORY Properties for a WebEdit object and also selected ordinal Identifier as Index and removed remaining properties from Both Mandatory and Assistive Properties. When I spy the application, Index property is not being identified. What could be the possible reason? I added the newproperty in Add/New mandatory properties dialog box as specified in the QTP Help i.e. attribute/index.
2) does not Object spy tell us any other property value that was not configured in object identification ? If not, how to know the information?
Thanks in advance
Re: Clarification on ObjectIdentification for webobjec
Index can not be added to mandatory properties for WebEdit Class objects. Index and Location are ordinal identifiers.
What you did is you have opened your Local/shared object repository and have selected a WebEdit object and clicked on "+" sign to add a new property. This change is applicable for the selected object only and not globally.
Read the QTP help again.
