    Recognising objects without OR?

    Hi

I am working on a web-application wherein the WebEdit objects and WebElement objects are added to the page dynamically depending on a count I select previously.
Since I cannot add all the objects created dynamically to OR, I thought of using Generic Objects but I failed as the objects are added to the page at different places and hence I cannot find a property on the basis of which I can manipulate and work with the objects added dynamically.

    Please suggest a solution
    Regards
    VC

    Re: Recognising objects without OR?

Try DP...do an advanced search for descriptive programming in the forum (or Google)

    Re: Recognising objects without OR?

using the child object method you can count the number of webedits/webelements in web page.

    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
    For example:
    getcountofobjects("WebEdit")
    function getcountofobjects(Objtype)
    set otext=Description.create
    otext("micclass").value=Objtype
    set alltexts=B().P().childobjects(otext)
    msgbox alltexts.count
    end function
    </pre><hr />

search in the forum to get more information.

    As stth10 suggested use DP.

Do a forum search for descriptive programming.

    Re: Recognising objects without OR?

    Hi Vinay,

Most of the web based applications have tables which act as containers to objects.

You need to identify the table that contains those objects and use the ChildObjects Method of Webtable to extract the dynamic objects and manipulate the same.

Please see QTP Help on Webtables and ChildObjects Method Example for more clarity.

    Regards,
    Savio

    Re: Recognising objects without OR?

    Hi Vinay

For this scenario the method chikki has suggested is good one.

you can count any type of objects and have a uniform recognization for all in one objects by assigning its properties
