    QTP and AJAX

    Hello hello,

I am new in QTP.currently we are using QTP v9.2 to automate our testing. Our web based application is using EXTJS ( which is Ajax framework), and I am having problem to scripting tests for the EXTJS controls.

Anyone knew how to resolve the issue ? Does QTP 9.2 support this EXTJS ?

    Thanks

    Re: QTP and AJAX

The web extensibility in 9.5 may help you build your own support. There is an example ASP.Net Ajax support in 9.5

    Re: QTP and AJAX

    anna,
Ext is purely a JS UI framework which is made by using only JS,CSS and Images. jack slocum have not used any type of HTML controls so QTP will not be able to identify these controls as standard HTML or dot net controls

U have to use custom event handling like fireevent for this

    Re: QTP and AJAX

This question is not about AJAX and QTP, but javascript toolkits and QTP. I don't think HP will offer support for a single toolkit as there are so many available (i.e. Googlegears, prototype, dojo). We will be implementing a toolkit shortly(probably EXTJS), so I will be looking into this. I think the way to deal with this, will the web extensibility and having an understanding of the toolkit API.
