QTP - Different environments?
I have a quick question that I tried looking for involving QTP. I am using QTP to test my web applications through the different environments we've setup at work (int, qa, prod).
My problem is reusing my test scripts. For instance, i get an object error for a button. the button is named the same throughout the environment but in QTP's object browser, the only difference is the .name property. Is there a way to QTP to adapt to the different environment or is there a workaround to this?
BTW< i am a totally n00b. please be gentle.
Re: QTP - Different environments?
I run scripts on different environments and use Environment variables to cater for any environment specifics. Perhaps you could adopt something similar, something like:
