We already have QTP 9.0 installed on many systems at our company and we have a concurrent license for them.
We are planning to make an upgrade soon, and would like to test some of our test scripts on the QTP 9.2/9.5.
Can we install QTP9.2 (or 9.5)on one (test) machine(dekstop) and run it without making any changes to the license server (while the other systems running QTP 9.0)?
As far as I know...License server is the same from 9.0 and up..it changed between 8.2 and 9..but from 9 and up it is the same...
Just dont go by my word...wait for more responses from others
thanks, I will wait for some more responses. I think that's the case as well, but just need to be sure.
I just put 9.5 on a system with a 9.2 license server no problems at all.

I put up QTP 9.2 on QTP 8.2 license server and that worked!!
Its automation not automagic
If I understood correctly, If you just want to test your QTP scripts from the older version, have trial version of 9.2 installed in a machine and test your scripts.
I also believe, the license server is same after 9+ version. Most folks in my company use 9.1 and I use 9.2
thank you all. got it. seems like both versions (9.0 and 9.2) can be run on the same network as they are served by the same license server.
