    Issue using DP for static object

    Below works
    Browser("name:=.*").Dialog("nativeclass:=#32770"). Static("nativeclass:=Static","window id:=35555").highlight
    Below dosen't
    Browser("name:=.*").Dialog("nativeclass:=#32770"). Static("nativeclass:=Static","regexpwndclass:=Stat ic").highlight

    I am trying to write generic code where I check for dialog window existence and then fetch text from the static object and then based on text do actions.
    Anyone can please tell how to identify static object using DP.
    Thanks

    Re: Issue using DP for static object

    DP is not similar when you use it in Win instead of Web. It is recommended to use appripriate properties.

    Btw try adding index and see if it helps

    In my experience with Static's you don't need both nativeclass & regexpwndclass properties as they can be considered as a similar (if not the same thing). I always choose the regexpwnd properties as my first choice on a dialog type object.

    "It is recommended to use appripriate properties." Tarun, can you please tell more like which properties.
    Mark, I will apply your suggestion. BTW I was just using those properties if in case it gets highlighted. Though when I used window id it does highlight, but the question is window id changes.

    Window id is constant most of the times for an application. You can certainly use those. When i say appropriate properties that means properties like title etc..
