QTP 9.2 compatability with QC 8.2
Some bright spark elsewhere in the company has installed 9.2 on their machine, then opened and saved scripts. This has resulted in everyone else being unable to open the scripts as well are all on 9.0.
We've been meaning to upgrade for a while and this seems to be the spur to do so. However, we have QC 8.2, will QTP 9.2 work with this? Do we need a 9.2 QTP/QC add-in?
Re: QTP 9.2 compatability with QC 8.2
of course, it works perfectly together.
you need the QTP-Addin to run qtp-tests on the remote pc. and you need it on both sides (pc with QC client and PC with QTP to run the scripts)
but there is no backward compatibility between QTP 9.0 and 9.2... you have to use the same version on all automation clients (to execute 9.0-scripts you can use 9.2 without problems)
de omnibus dubitandum
