License ignored - Demo license expired message
I have a term license that expires in March 2008 that I am trying to get working for QTP 9.2. I am running it on a VMWare WinXP SP2 machine.
I had 9.2 installed mid year last year but never had time train on it so I never requested a license from my company and the demo license expired. I uninstalled QTP while cleaning up my system thinking that I would not be learning it. Well my boss said that I need to learn QTP so I picked it up again in December and got my 3 month license. Well I installed the software again and my license and it installed without errors. However, when I start up QTP I get an error message that states:
License Error - The Demo License has expired.
If I try to install my license again it says that license is already installed. I've tried a clean uninstall (following the directions on the HP Support site) twice and the error persists. I'd rather not re-install everything on my VMWare from scratch (call me lazy - I have some LoadRunner stuff on there too). I've put in a support case request to HP but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone else ran into this issue.
Re: License ignored - Demo license expired message
1) Goto C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mercury Interactive\License Manager
2) Copy the file lservrc, and then delete it
3) Try to install the license again
