Remote control of QTP
I have a batch of scripts in QTP on a dedicated machine that several users need to be able to run remotely as and when required using a simple web based front end.
What I had in mind was a PHP/MySQL/HTML front end that would basically update a webpage with whichever tests users needed running, which QTP would continuosly be refreshing and checking in a loop until it found new tests that needed running. It would then output the results into another webpage would update the database/user front end.
Is this a ridiculous idea? I.e is there a much more efficient way of doing it ?
Re: Remote control of QTP
If it is required then it won't be a bad idea at all. But try to make it in way so that it is not just project dependent can be use by others as well in your company. And in case you wanna make it public then others as well.
