Am currently into an assigment of automation of reporting application using QTP
Below is the flow:
There are two envs (two GUI pointing to same db)
capture the report on both the env and compare for them for any discrepancy.
The current approach has been done with WR.
Approach is to create two text files(any file)one for each env and since the reports may be huge, good amount of time is taken to build the file for Env1 and by the time txt file is created for Env2 there will be time difference and the data would have changed as the data is very time specific.
We run into this issue only when the report size is big and with WR the tester seems to run into quite a few issues because of time difference...
I am kind of toying with the approch of opening both the browsers simultaneously and perform comparison..but really wary of running into issues as both the browser will have same obj except for the URL..
In a nutshell..i need to create the report at the same time to avoid time diff, and working with both browsers at the same time looks to be the only option...
