parsing webpage in tabular form usng QTP

I am new to both QTP and vb script. I have a web page which is in tabular form. I need to check two columns in the table and whether the data is sorted or not. How would I approach this problem?

Re: parsing webpage in tabular form usng QTP

    1) Grab the data to two separate files or arrays - one for your expected results and the other for actual.

    2) Using your own fully tested/debugged sort algorithm which sorts per functional requirements - sort to one of two files or arrays - as your expected results.

    3) Compare the actual to expected.

We will have this moved to the QTP forum below.

Re: parsing webpage in tabular form usng QTP

so for the above task I need to take following steps
    1) read the webpage and store the two columns name and id in two arrays.
    2) store the two columns in two new arrays in sorted form.
    3) compare the actual and sorted.

But what is the purpose of QTP here? I am not clear about how QTP is helping here.
