Running VBScript (QTP) with no install present

    Hi Folks,

I wonder if it is possible to run QTP
test scripts (VBScript) that have already
been developed, on clients that do no have
    QTP installed?

I ask this question because the company i work
for are looking to buy a single licence for developing
test scripts and are hoping to run those scripts
away from the test development environment.

    Thanks in anticipation ;-)

No. You must have a copy of QTP on each PC where you plan to run a script.

You can though install QTP on X number of PCs and then buy/use Y number of floating licenses--where X is greater than Y--but then you have to time share the licenses. Also, floating licenses are more expensive than seat licenses.

what you can do here is to Buy Licenses for a Tool like TDS (http://www.knowledgeinbox.com/others/tdsreview.html) and Then purchase few floating licenses for execution.

But if you are the only automation developer in your company then that's not gonna help.

    Thanks for your input chaps.

Was hoping that the remote Agent could be
utilised in some way, hey, never mind!

    Have a good day.
