    Re: How to set up shared repository for a test in 9.2?

    To learn the generalities of this generic QTP feature:

    1. Read the PDF manual for an overview

    2. Search QTP online help for the mechanics of settings one up

    3. Search this forum for additional details.

    Questions on specific technical problems are addressed on the forum--not how to use the basics of this tool.

    -Hope this helps, Terry Horwath

    User resource manager to create a new OR, then save it at certain location. User associate repository to assign it to your actions.

    Re: How to set up shared repository for a test in 9.2?

    Thanks Auslei...for your help...yes...I figured that I could associate repositories. What I want is, ability to load the shared OR to any test, so....I can avoid this merging/associating business. I couldn't find that under test setting as few people posted

    Terry....I couldn't find selecting OR under specific
    test->settings which is why I posted this in the first place. Secondly, PDF I have doesn't explain anything about OR. Thirdly, I did mention I found OR manager=> you didn't have to poke your nose & write what I already know.....

    Look at QTP online help for RepositoriesCollection Object and it's supported methods.

    You can write the code in a function library to add shared reposiories to the action and then call the function in your scripts.

    Public Function AddRepositories()
    RepositoriesCollection.RemoveAll()
    RepositoriesCollection.Add "C:\Test1.tsr"
    RepositoriesCollection.Add "C:\Test2.tsr"
    End Function

    I am not preaching to anybody here. But when people come to this forum for help, they should leave their egos on their desk. What Terry told you is mentioned in the forum guidelines.

    You want others to help you and at the same time you feel arrogant if somebody suggest you a self-learning way. Nobody knows everything but when you expect somebody to help you dont behave arrogantly atleast if you dont feel thankful.
