    how to recognize diff browsers...

    Hi All,

I have an application which has many tabs my problem is when I navigate to diff tab browser name is different. So if I run the test in middle or if application is in different tab it does not work.

How can I make my application independent of its location ?

    I appreciate your help.

    TIA
    Dipali

This goes back to core object recognition principles. Make sure the title of the browser window is not being used to identify the browser, or alternatively use regular expressions to make the pattern of expected titles match all the possible titles based on the different selected tabs.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Boyd.

How can I make sure that the title of the browser window is not being used to identify the browser ?

How can I do regular expression for whole window name ?

Use CreationTime property for recognizing the browser rather then using the title and other properties.

    Thanks Tarun and Vidya.

I saw object recognition properties of browser. I don't see anything apart from ordinal properties as "CreationTime"

Re: how to recognize diff browsers...

In the OR you will see as one of the properties for the browser object "CreationTime". Use this property to manage your open browsers. It goes by the order they were opened, for example 1st browser = creationtime 0, 2nd browser = creationtime 1 ect. Here is another thread which might also help.
