Re: Setting Internet Proxies in Registry using QTP

If i were you i won't ask but i would find it my self. Here is how it would be

1. Go to Internet options, change the proxy settings to some dummy values like http://dummy/dummy.txt

2. Open regedit.exe find the value http://dummy/dummy.txt

3. You have your key which can be user to change proxy setting.

It is not important that you know everything, but it is important that know how to find it...

Re: Setting Internet Proxies in Registry using QTP

Hi Tarun,

Thanks for helping me. As you said I found myself how to set values in Registry

Dim WshShell, bKey
Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

WshShell.RegWrite "HKCU\Software\ACME\FortuneTeller\", 1, "REG_BINARY"
WshShell.RegWrite "HKCU\Software\ACME\FortuneTeller\MindReader", "Goocher!", "REG_SZ"

Thanks Tarun

Cheers
Prakash

What do you mean it is not saving it? You need to launch the browser after changing these settings and not before it.

Go tools->Internet options and in the connection settings and see if the setting that you changes are visible there or not.

Hi Tarun,
I checked the tools->Internet options and in the connection settings after running the script. It is not changed.

What could be the reason?

Thanks,
Sowmya.

Try this one and not the one you posted.

WshShell.RegWrite "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\In ternet Settings\AutoConfigURL","http://proxy:80","REG_SZ"
