Just had the guys from Axe Odin in to give a demo on their QTP code generation tool.
It is a GUI front-end to the Excel KeyWord Framework methodology.
The QTP resources create & maintain QTP object definitions and VBScript functions. The testers use Excel sheets generated by Axe to 'build' a test. This consists of selecting Keywords, Objects & entering data into the spreadsheet and executing them via Axe.
Most of the functionality is already built into our framework so there is no point in us purchasing it, but I would advise anyone with no/basic framework who is interested, to take a look at it.
The only major function the tool does which our framework doesn't is it will generate a test case document from the defined test. Unfortunately this cannot be imported into TD/QC (next quite period we have we will impliment this functionality into our framework).
Re: Axe Odin
We had a look at AXE as well and it was also very simlar in concept to our framework. AXE still needs a very experianced Automation specialist however the rampup time to productive scripting is very fast. The other upside is that it supports a lot of Automation tools. So if you switch tools the time to covert test cases is short.
