Have any of you worked with RichEdit controls in the past? What have you done to make working with them easier? QTP sees them all as WinObjects. I can map them but there is nothing that makes the object unique such as using the label next to the object as the attached text.
Any suggestions on how to simplify this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Re: RichEdit controls
You should be able to remap the RichEdit class to multi line edit field in the Object Identification dialog in QTP. This will allow QTP to identify them properly. I have used RichEdit in Delphi, and QTP and Delphi in general have problems with the uniqueness of an object, since QTP cannot see most of the properties of Delphi objects; I would use Index to identify the object, since unless your screen redesigns itself dynamically that will be a stable property. This will not help much with recording, but will make the follow on code work and maintenance easier to deal with.
