I've a vbscript that runs a scheduled QTP test, generate the results and puts it in a specified folder. Next task is to email the result. I have the vbscript that can email an attachment using MS Outlook. The version is Outlook 2003 on that server. After reading some threads here, I installed the ClickYes utility on the server where QTP scripts run (tried on my workstation and was able to send email). Outlook2003 is not configured on the QTP server (its a virtual machine), so I had to ask helpdesk guys and they have some user policy issues since the server is a VM.
I like perl and I know how to write a script to send email without outlook being installed(I think). So my question is is it possible to execute a perl script from the same vbscript that i wrote to schedule the test and generate result? Has anyone done it b4? Or what are my other options?
I tried some of the examples from the website you provided. I still get the same error as I mentioned in my earlier post. I googled the error and tried some of the suggestions like putting the smtp server(ip/server name etc), but no use. Still researching more...
