i hope this is a new post. I tried searching but couldn't find any thread related to this.
i have a web radio group is my application. and during run time i need to select the first button in the group which is enabled. as i tried to find the RO Property "disabled" but found whenever any one of the button is disabled, teh disabled property of the radiogroup is 1. At any time any of the radiobutton in the radiogroup can be enabled or disabled as this setting is driven by the status of a set of check boxes.
My workaround this has been that the value I select is the value displayed when my confirmation is done. (Application wise)
As an example, I have a radiogroup consisting of 5 buttons. Their Ids are:
1,2,3,4 and 5: Now they represent:
Car, Boat, Plane, ATV and Pogostick.
Now, when I run my script, I select 5.
In my "Validation" part of the script, I have:
If ID = 5, and the value displayed is "Pogostick"
Then report out success/pass test.
Bad thing about this is that you need 5 separate use cases to test all these instances. That is what I have done. If anybody have a better solution, I gladly also take this advice
- How many testers do you need to switch a light bulb? None, we just report it's dark -
but my condition is not as good as yours. i have to select the first enabled radio button in the group where the state of each individual button is driven by the settign of few checkboxes. each radio button is associted with one check box and the chaeck boxes vary only by index. if anybody can provide any other solution. also checking the status of teh check box and selecting radio button is not viable because under certain conditions a radio button can be disbaled even if associated check box is enabled. writing logic for this is posible but too complex. hence i am looking for any help through QTP functionality.
