I was wondering if anybody uses the following combination;
Scripts run on QTP 9.
Scripts stored in QC 8.2
External Action Call Modidier from QTP 8.2 used to change location of external actions.
I'm having a bit of an annoying issue with the location of the external actions.
When a view the properties of an external action in QTP, the locations says;
[QualityCenter] Subject\Actions POC\Case Flow Store
When I then open the same calling script in External Action Call Modifier, the location of the action is now;
[QC-TEST];;Subject\Actions POC\Case Flow Store;;
I can see how this is the same location but the tool says that this location is unknown (ie. there is a red question mark next to the action).
If I now change it to the value displayed in QTP, it recognises it, and becomes a green tick.
Where is [QC-TEST] coming from? This means that if I want to change the location of one action, I have to fix it for all the other actions.
Has anybody got a work around?
Can you paste the path "[QualityCenter] Subject\Actions POC\Case Flow Store" in the folders tab in options..
I dont know whether this will work even if the path of the action is hardcoded in the action properties, but any way worth a try...

Yeah it works but it's annoying!
Anyway, I've stumbled upon much bigger problems trying combine these 3 things so have decided to ditch it as a bad idea!
QTP Automatically converts this [QualityCenter] paths.
When used in resources, it changes to
When used in Folders path, it changes to
when used in action call it changes to

Why is that when I view the location in the Action properties, it uses [QualityCentre] rather than [QC-TEST]?
I guess not to have confusion for the users.
