    QTP and Firefox future

    Hello,

I have been trying to get the question answered by somebody from mercury/hp, but no luck. So i'm posting it here:
does anyone know of Mercury's plan to support Firefox? If they are going to make qtp more compatible with firefox.

One our app only runs in Firefox, so it is really important for me that qtp recognizes object by there properties, etc.

If you know any document outlining mercury's roadmap(concerning firefox specially), please share.
    Thanks for the help.

    Re: QTP and Firefox future

The QTP 9.2 Version read me file says that it supports Firefox 2.0, and it does support it.

If you install it, You should find a QTP 9.2 plugin in your add-ons tab of your Mozilla browser. Also, you can see all the properties properly recognized, when you do object spy(it does on my application).

    Thanks,
    Pavan Kumar

Have you tried recording your application on firefox? When i record my app on firefox, qtp doesn't recognize objects and records using x,y coordinates.

When i use the spy to add an object to OR and then try to use it in a script, QTP doesn't find it.

you have to automate your web application in IE, after doing this you can replay your script in firefox

For all Questions: Please be sure to take a look at the QTP Manual before posting any Questions, thanks for doing this

    Re: QTP and Firefox future

Problem i'm facing is that my application only runs in FireFox. The app is built on dojo framework; has anybody tested an app built on dojo, using QTP (or any other tool)?

    Thanks for your help.
