    Dialer Automation Testing

    Hi All,
For our call center team we have a predictive dialer(computerized system that automatically dials batches of telephone numbers for connection to agents) and i am tasked to automate testing of that process using QTP. I am new to this area of automation testing and do not know what is involved. I appreciate your inputs/suggestions on how to approach.

Dialer information can be found at

    Re: Dialer Automation Testing

Try to do recording of your dialer application and see whether QTP identifies application objects (you may try low lavel recording also)? If yes then i think it is possible!!

    Hi

What type of testing are you going to perform ....functional? are you going to prepare a regression suite? and is your application web based ,install qtp demo version from mercury website and try to automate your application and see if it is compactable.

    Regards

    Re: Dialer Automation Testing

If it's a Dialer have it call another identical app. Set up two telephony applications. One is a dialer the other answers. Of course you need a PBX inbetween unless your running VOIP. If you created the dialer you should be able to do that. Then you can capture, DNIS, ANSI, and other telephony settings that are sent over the line.
If not your better to use Emprix Hammar to test than QTP. QTP doesn't work well in a multi thread enviroment. (Each call is a thread)
You can also get some free app's from Dialogic or AccuLab.
