Problem re. dynamic objects in a webpage
Can I use regular expressions to capture multiple dynamic objects in a webpage?
I'm using QTP to smoke test a web application we're developing. One of the pages my test script encounters contains several duplicate dropdown lists, where each list contains the same four selections. When I record using QTP, each of the dropdown "WebList" objects is given a dynamic number - for example:
Browser("COMPANY NAME - Portal").Page("COMPANY NAME - Portal").WebList("40219ddlAction").Select "Payoff"
My question is, how would I use a regular expression to select a specific item from the various dropdowns when the "WebList" object identifier number ("40219") dynamically changes every time the page loads?
Thanks for any info!!!
Re: Problem re. dynamic objects in a webpage
Did you try Browser("COMPANY NAME - Portal").Page("COMPANY NAME - Portal").WebList("*.ddlAction").Select "Payoff"
would request you place you query in the qtp forum so that you will get faster responses.
