QTP Result in QC
Suppose I write a script in QTP for 50 test cases and I write its result either a test case is failed or pass in excel sheet which I create at run time. After creating my script, I save it in test plan of QC and run it in test lab. In this way we can only track when the script was run ie date and time. I do not use fusion report which is generated automatically by QTP at the end of running the script for defect log. After running the script I open excel file and read the test cases which are failed and log a defect for the same in QC manually. If any test case is failed or pass in my QTP Script then can I do its entry automatically in QC. If yes then provide detailed solution.
Re: QTP Result in QC
Though I cannot give you a detailed solution, as I never tried logging a defect from QTP automatically, but you have two options:
1. There is a 'Submit a Defect to QC for each failed step' option in QTP Options-> Run tab. You can select it.
2. To submit more customized defects, you have to explore the TDOTA object, which you can obtain using QTP's TDConnection object. For more details of TDConnection object, refer QTP Professional Help.
For TDOTA, download the QC Open Test Architecture API reference from QC->Help->Documentation Library.
