I am testing the web application. When I executed the test script, data will be loaded to web edit fields of by Global Datatable in the first iteration. I used Set method. It loops through what I want and then go back to the first screen where I have to reload the data from Global Datatable. The previous value which were loaded into those web edit fields are still remained. How do I clear them to enter the new values in the second iteriation.
For example: Open URL: http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/to.../rc_res-e.asp. I fill in Originator, Destination, Weight, Length, Width, Height. Hit submit. Check price here. And then click Search Again. It will go back the screen where I have to fill in the new values like before. But the previous values are still in the web edit fiels.
Using the Set method should clear it for you. The Set method replaces the current value with the one you provide to the method.
Is it not working this way?
But this raises another question. Are you sure your application should retain this data when you go back to the beginning?
I assume when you say "go back" you don't mean just hitting the back button, since you are expecting to start another iteration from your datatable.
So if "go back" means you're clicking a link or a webbutton to start another order (or whatever) then it would be my expectation that those fields should be cleared by your application automatically, and if they are not, then that might be a bug.
Sure, maybe there are situations or reasons to not clear them. I have no idea what your application or requirements are. But it is something you should consider, and if there are no situations or reasons, you should probably log it as a bug.
