I have a script that is about 558 lines long ( including comments)
I am using a variable - strMessage to gather some text throughout the script to report as test log.
So I am using this variable in several places in the code
strMessage = strMessage & "text1"
strMessage = strMessage & "text2"
and so on.
Now when I use the Menu\Edit\Find ( Ctrl+F) feature of the editor to find 'strMessage" and click Find.. QTP only finds the first occurrence. This happens to me with most scripts when I am trying to find a certain text.
I have not been successful using the Find and Replace feature of the QTP editor because I could not get it to work. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, any idea for why this is happening and how to resolve this.
I have seen this issue too, also sporadically, in addition to other fishy "find" functionality in the QTP editor. The only thing I have noted as a workaround is to make the search string all lower case and retry. I have made a crude observation that the problem occurs when I'm searching for an intercapitalized string, such as strMessage.
In QTP 9.1, I can search for intercapitalized strings. I searched for my variable intTimeout and found every instance. I then changed it to strMessage and they all changed. Then I searched them all and then changed them all back.
Maybe this is version-specific?
"The last 10% of any software project will take 90% of the budgeted time. The first 90% will take the other 90%"
I am using QTP 9.1. Strangely enough, when I went back and tried it .. it started working.. So I have been in the "Zone" since then & have modified my script for what I wanted to do..

To answer some of you questions
1. I have had this problem no matter what I am searching for - intercapitalized strings or not.
2. On some days, I can never get to to find anything.. on other days the issue never shows up.
I will try to re-install QTP later during the week.. Thanks everyone for your responses.
