how to use structures in QTP(or VBscript)

    Hi,
I am trying to use the windows API SendMessage and LB_GETITEMRECT to get info about a list box.

    LB_GETITEMRECT message takes two parameters,
wParam is index of the item to retrieve
lParam is the pointer to RECT object that receives the coordinates
Return value: LB_ERR if error occurs.

The question is how to deal with RECT structure in QTP, I haven't found any useful info in help file so far.
If QTP interoperability with WinAPI doesn't allow us to use structures, then we're in trouble.

    Any help or pointers appreciated.

    Cheers
    Minu

You can do that in VBScript/QTP. A limitation basically. What you can do is create a COM DLL in VB6 or any other tool and then create the object of the classes in the DLL from QTP.

I use VBScript "Dictionary Object" to hold simple structured data. It's basically like an associative array of key & value pairs.
